Established in 1936 Guinea has the legacy of trust and purity. For over 80 years Guinea has been a jeweller who has cherished the importance of heritage, style and innovation. The brand Guinea was the brainchild of its founder Late Shri Lakhi Prasad. It was during the period of pre-independent India that he setup his first store in the bustling old market of Ashok Rajpath, Patna.
The Band Guinea soon became a household name in Patna. Every wedding in town or nearby had to have a piece of jewellery specifically crafted for the bride from the store. With an eye for detail and understanding a woman’s desire for seeking a design that has international sensibility and traditional ethos, Guinea jewellers soon expanded its footprints in other parts of the city. Guinea was one of the first jewellers to open a complete hallmarked store in 2009 in Boring Road, Patna. This store was opened by Sachin Gupta, grandson of Lakhi Prasad and son of Uday Gupta and now representing the 3rd generation of Guinea. Sachin finished his MBA from Leeds Business School, England in 2008 and came back to India to continue the legacy of his grandfather. He has successfully completed a diploma in Diamonds from Gemological Institute of America in 2012 and also completed a course in precious colour gemstones and pearl grading from the same institute in 2015 and is now successfully running the store.
As jewellers, Guinea has established a strong stamp of recognition, quality and credible reputation and their customers continue to be loyal to the brand for three generations now. Driven by passion and deep love for jewellery, Sachin Gupta travels extensively across the country in his quest to be abreast with latest trends. Guinea was also among the first jewellery houses to introduce certified diamonds to their clientele.

Renowned for diamonds, gold, polki, kundan jewellery, and one of the early pioneers of coloured diamonds their repertoire is also one of the largest in the country.
Guinea takes special care in maintaining standard since being well aware that Gold has always been associated with security and is the most valuable form of investment; therefore, ethical practices in manufacturing are followed assuring the customer absolute purity and the right selling and buy back policies. For the benefit of the customers, not only have all the products been Hallmarked in the new HUID system but also have a Gold Analyzer Machine installed in the store that can test the purity of any ornaments within seconds. This gives the customers a complete peace of mind while purchasing. Guinea takes special care while designing each of their jewellery which is not only unique but has gone through stringent quality standards at every point.
Sachin’s vision is to expand the eponymous label in accordance with his grandfather’s guiding design philosophy to both the national and international markets and continue to innovate and strive for new benchmarks in quality, creativity and design.
